A Little About Us…
Our relationship is strong and loving. We have been married for 12 years. We enjoy our time together both in play and work and we share a love of horses, outdoors, travel, and family. By owning a horse farm, we are fortunate to make a living doing what we enjoy. Wiebe trains horses to pull carriages. His schedule is flexible and he is looking forward to an active role in raising our child. Amy trains riding horses and works part-time for a small animal vet. She will be a stay at home mom. This is important to us because we feel providing a secure, nurturing environment is key to raising a healthy, happy child who is strong emotionally and physically. The thought of a child to share our home and life fills us with incredible joy.

Our Home Is Our Favorite Place...
We live on a horse farm an hour south of Raleigh, North Carolina. It is an active fun place, with neighbors and friends always stopping by. It will be a wonderful place to raise our child. There is a big field; just the right size for a game of baseball or soccer. Wiebe has picked-out the perfect place to build a slide and swing set. A hammock hangs from two trees in our yard.  Growing up, Amy would rock on a hammock and makeup stories of pirate ships for her brothers and the neighborhood kids.  She looks forward to sharing ‘make-believe adventures’ with our child and all the games we will play in our yard.

Family...
Our family shares our excitement about growing our family through adoption. Wiebe’s parents and sister live in Holland.  When we visit them, there are so many things we love to do and sharing them with our child will be amazing.  Bicycling into the village for groceries (and Dutch chocolate!) is always a treat. We will go to the beach (the North Sea). The village has a public ice skating pond located just behind Wiebe’s parent home.  It will be the perfect place, to learn to skate. Amy’s parents live in Williamsburg, VA in the same house where Amy grew up, just a few miles from Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. She has many happy memories there and will enjoy sharing them with our child. Annually we go to the beach with Amy’s parents, brothers, sister in-law, niece, aunt, uncle, and cousins. We relax, eat a lot, do puzzles, play on the beach and laugh. The best part is being together!

Our horses & dogs…
Our horses are an important part of our lives.  They are our business and also our passion.  We especially enjoy working with foals and young horses.  We like knowing that our training contributes to their success.  Our two dogs, Tessa and Bijke, are sweet and gentle.  They love it when our friends bring their kids over to play and we know they will be great with our child.

About Amy...
Amy has an honest and kindhearted nature. She comes from a family of teachers. Kids and learning have always been important to her. She enjoys books, animals, and gardening. Amy loves sharing her interests. There is no doubt there will be a pony living at our farm for riding lessons and a set of kid size garden tools for our child. She is most excited about being a stay at home mom. As a wife, her love is unconditional and I cannot wait to see her with our child.
~ Wiebe

About Wiebe...

Wiebe is a gentle, patient man. He loves projects. Each summer, Wiebe guides our cousins in building something wonderful together. This year a bridge! Our child will see by his example that everything is possible with hard work and effort. They will also see that life is fun. Wiebe is always ready for a water fight, a trip to the pond to swim, or a game of catch.  His care and compassion will make him a wonderful father.

An Open Adoption...

The idea of open adoption is more exciting the more we learn about the benefits. Amy’s Uncle Peter was adopted through a closed adoption. He recently met his birthmother and brothers! The relationship that has evolved has been a blessing to the entire family. Our child will know where he or she came from, and that it is your love that makes open adoption possible.  We look forward to building a relationship with you based on trust and honesty.
